Default JDM ITR 5lug question

My friend in Dallas bought a 5lug conversion from JDMhondaparts.com a few months back. He got it in literally 4-5 working days. Not bad considering in came in truck from Southern California.

Down to the point. He is putting the front hub assembly on and is finding out his axles dont fit. The axle is too small. Fowler has suggested that he got some JDM axles because the JDM ITR run 16" wheels. Which is ALL understandable.

Where can I source JDM ITR axles or what kind of axles does my friend need to complete this conversion? Thanks in advance.

98+ JDM ITR front hubs are crap.

What a PITA if you break an axle.

so is it due to the 98+ model year changes that the 5 lug hub was redesigned or is it because of 16" rims? i'm guessing the first. in any case, i'm really surprised by this incompatibility. can someone else confirm this?

MiGs, what kind of Teg does your friend have? GS-R, GS, LS, or RS?

the newer jdm 5 lug setups have bigger axlrs. You need the jdm axles to run the 98-up jdm 5 lug.

I learned from SgT that 98+ JDm ITR Hugs are based on the Prelude Outers. This makes them stronger where they stock axles normally break. It actually would be a good swap, using the Prelude Outers because they are so much stronger.

Does CTR have this same problem? My friend is shipping me a set from Japan.

yes 36mm axles are specific to Preludes, Accords and CRVs.....
either get JDM 98-01 SpecR (ITR) axles or outers from Preludes or CRVs

CTR is identical to USDM ITR so problems there, standard 32mm nut, and axle

i'm sure some people do it just for the looks, but for the most part non-itr owners upgrade in order to greatly improve their stopping ability.
