Default I'm so happy i could just sh*t

I'm pretty psyched right now and decided to share.

Over the last week or so (due to me being paid 3 times this month) i have gone on somewhat of a civic spending spree in an attempt to fully SiR convert my 91 dx hatch.

Thus far i have purchased:

SiR Front buckets

SiR Rear Bumper

SiR Front bumper w/ bumper lights and front lip

AND LAST... BUT DEFINATELY NOT LEAST :D

B16A Full Engine Swap (the engine that came in the SiR)

INCLUDED ITEMS:

Complete block
Complete head
Intake and exhaust manifold
Engine wire harness
ECU
Under hood fuse box
Fuel rail and injectors
Distributor
Throttle body
Alternator
Power steering pump
Starter
5spd cable clutch transmission
Left and right axle shafts
Half shaft
Shift linkage
Engine mounts.

SO DAMN EXCITED

Future plans include building the engine for boost until hopefully around june when i can get the swap done... then running it as such until I can TC or SC it (still not sure :D)

YEEHAW

You still need a hood, headlights, filler piece, and t-bar(or modify the domestic one)... and I think if you want the side markers then you will need the fenders as well.

You could just use the bumper cover, but it looks like poop

You definately need the hood. Otherwise your car will look like it has an underbite. And the hood wont secure.

EDIT: Unless your only putting the bumper on and not the headlights etc.

I hate to burst your bubble, but those seats look like regular old Si seats to me.

Closer pics would tell the whole story.

And where's the tech?

Yeah... those are Si seats. Notice the wear mark on the lumbar support of the one on the right? That's the US Driver position. If the seats were SiR then you'd expect wear on the opposite one.

^ There's your tech.

By the way, WTH happened to this forum? 3 years ago it was about helping guys with similar interests... now, every time someone wants to share something interesting you get these obnoxious "Where's the Tech?" "Tech?" "Where's the Tech?!?!" "WHERE IS MY TECH?!?!!??!" I've seen preschoolers bitch less when their sippy cups are stolen.

Good catch on the bolster wear.

I think it's due to a general dislike of the A/C community by the folks that actually share tech info in here. Then again, there are just some bandwagoners out there too that will complain about lack of tech to look "cool". Personally, I could give a crap about some JDM parts unless I see the before and after pictures of the car they were installed on. These parts are so common nowadays that people are pining for USDM parts again.

Well, here's the thing, I stopped posting in this forum when the average poster's age dipped below 18. I've done 3 B16 swaps into EFs, I've converted DPFI to MPFI, I've built a CRX race car, I've converted a CRX to an SiR front end and all, and quite frankly I refuse to post in here because I don't think some of these guys are worthy of learning anything. They're rude, misinformed, and at least 40% of the time when someone posts "tech" it's wrong. Aren't people still bitching about how heavy the H22 is and how it will "ruin" the CRX's handling? [sigh]

Anyway, if someone thinks of an off question or wants to buy my mint Main Relay for $500, let me know.

Yes, sadly. I've done the swap before and there's no noticeable difference. Although I am not as OG as you sir, I feel your pain.

I hate that H22A misconception.

YO MY SUPA VTEC FRIENDS SAY HIS CAR UNDERSTEERS MAD NOW YO.

Maybe cause your jackass friend is riding around on D-series spring rates and also about 4mm off the ground. When will people actually READ and learn the real ****? Why bother asking questions in an open forum about a particular setup when the original guy who worked through the kinks can be easily found through searching? Cause its easy to be lazy I guess.

I need .

Wait, so you mean a dumped car will handle worse when more weight is added to it?

I don't know, my boy who works at a shop told me different y0. He also told me I can cut wires on my distributor to get VTAK.

Regardless... OP, you've got Civic Si seats, be VERY careful when checking out that motor, you're going to need the piece that goes between the bumper and hood, IIRC on the SiR bumper if you want to run your headlights, keep your stock hood. On my CRX I needed the JDM lights to work with the hood. Either way, good luck, and your Si seats are still GREAT, and can be sold at a good price if you choose.

I just want to know what I have to do to make this damn thing fit

If your going to use stock headlights then the hood will not fit. Your bumper will fit without using a different hood though. If you need pics of it done just ask.

Cheers.

I'm happy for you. Putting a 1.6L in for the 1st time is very cool.

As far as the JDM look, I would not do it. It tends to attract thieves, etc but to each his own.

I look forward to the updates and the finished product.
