Default swapping d16 to d15

need some help - a buddy blew his stock d16 - bought a d15 sohc vtec (less expensive).

i got the d15 in the car (all conections connected, fuel, spark, etc, is good to go.)

the problem i have is the car wont run, it'll crank but wont run. the thing that got me confused is that there is 2 connectors from the dizzy. im guessing the dizzy connector and cps connector. the connector on the wiring harness has 3 wires, blue, blk and white.

the wires of the connector fromt he dizzy is blk and blue. i cut the blu and blk wires from the dizzy and extended them to the connector of the wiring harness, but i dont know what to do with the white one.

i've tried grounding the white wire, also connecting it to the blk wire. (white and blk wire have continuity when ohm out, so i figured that i would try to connect them together. still no go.

tried original dizzy but the bolt holes wont line up, tried swapping coils; but still no go.

can someone tell me how to wire this thing up before i start checking timing, etc. i really dont know what the car wont run. i've got fuel and spark. every plug ignites.

thanx

So what car is this in? What wiring harness is in the car? Did the D15b come with a dizzy?

i think your prob is that your trying to put a obd1 motor into a obd2b car, idk what else you could do to make it run, maybe swap the head from the old motor if its not to much trouble and if its still good

pretty sure the firing order is correct

1342 starting with the top right going clockwise on the dizzy cap, but i've also seen a post saying that it should be...
1342 starting wiht the bottom left going clockwise, i have yet to try that.

Check your firing order like everyone stated, also where did you acquire this motor? Has it been compression tested? Cause you said its getting fuel/spark and its cranking but its just not starting which is very odd.
