Default Fan not working!!!! HELP!!!!

Ok, I had a complete head job done on my d16z6, milled .020, gasket matched port/polish, valve job, valve guides, copper head gasket, and waiting on the Skunk2 cam, but assembled so I can drive now. Ok, got everything hooked back up, runs like a charm, but my radiator fan isn't coming on ever!!! The fuse is good, the fan works(ran wires from the battery directly to it...but what else is there to check? I pulled off the relay, but how do I check it?? Right now I hooked up a toggle switch to the cabin so I can flip it on around town, but what do you all think it might be???? Thanks a lot....

It sounds like the fan relay is not working anymore. I had the same problem and used a bobby pin to hotwire the circuit to make sure nothing was wrong with the fan. Since you did this just replace the relay. No real way to check it other than to replace it and see if that works

Check the temp sensor on the engine block, its close to where the coolant hose is attacthed to. Mine want bad, I jumped the connection on it so the fan would run constantly.

Yeah I have the same problem in my 96 Civic. I've changed the thermostat, changed the temp sensor next to the rotor, swapped the relay with the one next to it and nothing makes the fan work. I also did the hard wire thing to see if the motor was blown and it wasn't the fan works. So now in traffic when the car isn't moving and the temp starts to rise I flip on the heater and it comes right back down till I get moving again. Maybe I'll buy a relay and see it that works, if not I'll just do the toggle switch deal to the battery.

Thanks a lot for all of the input. I need to check the thermo switch and everything. I know the stat is good, but just the fan isn't working. Those relays are like 64 bucks though huh??? I was gonna try to avoid that. I hooked up that toggle switch on the left side of the radio console by my right leg- not noticable and it helps me run cool around town if I leave it on.
About running the wires though- pull off the relay switch which is on top of the radiator, underneath the top of the overflow resevoir. There will be 2 little male connections. Just either have a buddy help you and each of you connect one side of 2 wires to the battery and to the terminals, or get female connectors and take the stripped ends of some wire and connect it to the battery. If the fan turns on, then it's good...either fan switch, relay, fuse, thermoswitch, whatever. Thanks again though guys!!
