Default help fitting header......

Hi Guys,
i've just got in a Buddy Club race spec header, it looks very similar to the smsp/hytech headers i've seen on these boards

my trouble is im trying to fit to a jdm itr

the decat that comes with the header is in 3 sections but even with the center section removed it still looks like its gonna be too long,
i know usdm itr's come with a longer cat, so before i take off my old header, fit the new & then have to go looking for a welder......is there a quick fix?

now that you've said that to me i might try to pick up the skinny brace from a B16 if that'll fit, i did have to leave off the spring nearest the box to make it fit, do you have any info on modifying the itr brace??

it's fine to run without the brace, a lot of people do.

I thought it was gonna be some taiwanese exhaust, surprised it doesn't all fit when they're both buddyclub

lol, yeah that would be too much to ask for, i think the header & decat would probably match up to eudm/usdm spec zorst
i will look into removing the brace but have to say i'm impressed with the header regardless of the fitting headaches

one pic is worth a thousand words, i would have some concerns about the flywheel being exposed given the poor condition of our roads
is your car a D/D or predominantly for track use?

it's probably a good idea to cover up the flywheel - using the GS-R cover/B16A cover along with the 2 piece brace is what some others have done.

The ITR brace was designed to help reduce vibration in the drivetrain or so I have heard/read in some official literature. I'm sure it does work as Honda intended, but removing it is not something that is perceptible from the driver's perspective.

Shame that most aftermarket companies didn't take this into account with the exception of some SMSP/Hytech/DTR custom made to order units out there.
