Default 92 civic bad clutch?

i've recently dropped a 94 civic ex motor into my hatch.... got everything plugged up, went to start it and it started right up on the first click.. engine runs fine, but i go to put it in gear and it does nothing... im thinkin its the clutch, because when i put it in gear and let go of the clutch it doesn't die like its suppose to, i've also purchased a new clutch but havn't installed it yet.. i wanted to see if this was the cause of the problem before i change it out..

im pretty sure the shift linkage and all that is hookd up correctly although the pole rubs against the exhaust pipings but its not too bad... and all the bolts on the linkage were hand tight... so do i need to change my clutch?
