warranties..?
well i got a question...some company called my house and i picked up it was one of those you know extedned warranty companies sayin that they can extend your warranty.....and since my transmission was messed up and had to rebuild it for 2,500$ which i havent done yet!! i just stayed on the phone and i told them all my info...1998 honda accord 3.0l v6 and 107k they only covered up too 100k but since i was at 107k they were like we will let you slide....i pay 95$ a month for 36 months..the warranty covers engine transmission including all mechanical and electrical work and 250 parts under the hood...with only a max of 100$ deductiable...and i could go to any place i want t get it fixed..so of course i went to hondas of boston and the warranty place sent me a card in the mail.. and i took that card and brought it to hondas of boston and next week they are going to replace my transmission brand new which i might add at a honda dealership it costs $4,040.73$ exact......so it did sound to good to be true ...but hopefully we will find out next week

Not for the 98 models, just 99-02 I'm fairly sure.

Becarefull there are a few so called warranty companies out there that say they cover you but then they just screw you over.. found this out from a service writer at a GM dealership I tow for. I don't remember the name of the company but will find out tommorow just out of curiosity what is the name of the one you went with?
us fidelis........they sent me a contract...a card that has my name car info including miles and vin number color engine type etc....
Hopefully it works out for you and I’ve never heard of Fidelis… but there is no way that they are going to pay for a new transmission for you.
What is going to happen is that you will be stuck in this contract that says that you have to pay $95 / month for three years (that's $3,420), and they won’t pay for anything (including the transmission) since you are over the number of miles. And you’ll have to pay the dealer $4,041 for the transmission.
I know that they said that they would let the miles slide – that’s the salesman talking and that’s also not in writing. Wait until the claim hits their payment department and is denied. Even if they did put in writing that your car would be covered even though it’s over 100,000 miles, the claim will be denied because either it’s a pre-existing condition or because you won’t be able to provide the paperwork showing that you changed the transmission fluid every x number of miles (with x being a number more stringent than the required maintenance from the owner’s manual).
My advice – don’t do it.
