Default ITR Theft: (Poll) LA vs NYC area

I'm not sure how useful of a question/poll this might be, as I don't know if many itr owners have lived and driven in both the LA and NYC areas.

I'm contemplating relocating over to the LA area, and I'm wondering if the theft is much more rampant than lets say, a comparable area in NYC. I understand that there are good parts and bad parts of LA and NYC alike.

For example, comparing northern bergen county (NYC area) to the San Gabriel Valley (LA area). In all my time in NYC metro, I've never been tailed home, nor carjacked...ok, maybe my paranoia had me believe I was being tailed home once or twice, but i hear that happens a lot more in CA?

Which is worse? LA or NYC theft?

I'm sure theft in general is pretty equal in both ny and la. But since we are talking about ITRs, California takes the cake.

LA > NY when it comes to the import scene.

x2.

Couldn't have said it better... also consider, LA has more ballers, bigger import scene, more itr owners.

I'm familiar with both SGV and Bergen county, and I say that SGV is worse. Good luck with whatever you decide.

Both areas seem equally horrible. We just hear more from Cali, because there are more Rs in Cali to be stolen....

I realize LA is bad, but c'mon with the close proximity NYC has to Newark, East Orange, and, Jersey City. LA might be as bad but definetly not worse than northern jersey & NYC.

As a sidebar, on friday night undercover cops tried to stop a stolen 2007 M6 not far from my house only to be greeted by muzzle flash. One cop was injured, no fatalities.

The M6 was ditched a few blocks later, both suspects fled on foot and are still at large. So again, LA might be bad, but NYC is crawling with hardcore career criminals, so it's not like the LA guys can make us out to be Switzerland (a crime free nation) with a stupid poll.

All I can say is don't judge where you want to live based on the car only.

We have two seasons out here in cali Summer and Winter. Its really nice today, right now its 75 degrees out side.

If I had to choose between weather and people and job.

Make a list of criteria of you is important to you and compare.

Personaly for myself

LA > NY

I definatly believe the Tri-state area has any part of cali beat in this subject . . . If ny had as many R's as cali does theyd all be gone by now . . .

depends on the area in nyc, some area are real hot boys for any modded teg or civic and they will take it or try real fast..

south jamacia is real bad, they steal every thing, and will move cars to take it

wash heights basically all over is real bad they steal everything as well and have been known to push cars great distances .

corona queens they will steal 100% stock civic or tegs no matter what model

some parts of BK are real bad

I think LA is left behind seeing that NYC has so many hot spots compared to LA.

NYC thiefs will follow you home and come when your not home or sleeping.

Lower manhattan is pretty bad as well most people think not cuz of all the cops but its bad down town

plus on other sites there are a few threads of people getting cars stolen from the police pct that impounded there cars.

Kids hatch bagged right in front of the pct in BK after he got picked up for racing
