ok, so my little sister just turned 16 and I am buying her a car for christmas this year. I want to get her a 97 ek. how similiar is that to my 92 eg? It's an ex model, but i'm pretty sure no vtec, can anyone tell me what kind of engine was in the 97 ex? I want to make sure i get her a car i know how to fix for her and what not. also, it doesn't have the back half of the exhaust, and I'm going to be buying a performance exhaust for mine soon, will my stock exhaust fit onto that?

 

look at the stamp on the block. its on the left side. if it is an ex like you state, im pretty sure its a sohc vtec d16y8. as far as similarities, what kind are you talking about? appearence wise?(because there are none) interchangelable parts? suspension? if you've fixed one honda, you can more than likely fix another with little or no help....

 

yeah that guys ^ is right.

the ek and eg totally looks different from eachother and the parts wont fit like that.
