1997 Civic timing belt question
I have 150k on my Civic 97 and was advised by my mechanic that I need to change timing belt. I do not know anything about it so I was looking for a second opinion from pros.
My questions are
Do I realy need to change it?
Mechanic advised that it would be better to change waterpump with it as well?
He quoted me 3.1 hours of labor? Does it really take that much time?
What would be an average cost to change it?

u should change it... to change the water pump u have to take the t belt off thats why generally people do it all at once.. no idea on cost. but i think 3 hrs is a bit much..
the belt should def be changed if its the original. i'm pretty sure the book says somewhere close to 3hrs, especially if ur doin the water pump too. i can usually do them in a little less than an hour and a half and we usually get, i think, around $300-$350, for the belt, pump, antifreeze and labor
