Innovative Mounts for H-series in 1988-1991 Civic/CRX?
I was actually toying around with the idea of swapping the B20Z out of my 1988 Civic 4DR and replacing it with an H23A. And I was possibly thinking of using the Innovative Mounts. At $399, they are only a little over half the price of the Hasport mounts for the same swap (priced at $749). But are they any good? Does anyone have any experience with Innovative Mounts, or, better yet, this kit specifically?
I have yet to use their H into EF kit but we've done plenty of their H into EG/DC kits and they have worked flawless. Top notch quality, easy installation, and miminal vibration even for their standard 75A inserts used on all H kits.
Weve used their h22 ef kit in our other full H crx. It runs 11's all day with no problems. The mounts are awesome
How is clearance with this kit? Do you have to do alot of banging on the firewall and frame rails to get it to fit? Also, how is ground clearance? I know that more ground clearance = less hood clearance. But I would rather deal with hood clearance problems that beat the living daylights out of the oilpan.

ground clearance is good. i have the kit in my crx. hood closes fine. the framerail needs a little "massaging" where the crank pulley sits so you can get your alternator belt on and off without dropping the whole motor. i'd also get the innovative alternator bracket, it allows the alt to be dropped down lower. otherwise you are going to have to bang the framerail and cut out a pretty large chunk of your headlight housing for the alternator to fit. as long as the car isn't dumped on the ground the clearance is good.
