Default '08 Si: Worth it?

So I'm pretty close to putting down the cash and financing an '08 Si. For the current owners, do you think it's worth it? I saw the car at a dealership just the other day in black, and my oh my is it a beauty. I simply fell in love with everything about it. I plan on going back for a test drive, but I'd like to know from the ones sitting in one right now if the car is a fun ride and worth the $23k I'm about ready to put down on one (with nav).

It's just so sexy! I'n having a hard time keeping myself from going to the dealership right now and laying the cash on 'em. My other option is to keep my '94 EX and start building it...but I love the Si so much, and I think nothing compares to a new car. So what do you guys think?

I just traded in my 04 Si for a Habanero Red FA5 and, well......GET ONE!!!! So much nicer, faster, and better looking than older Civics.

The car is amazing. 1010202303% improvement over a '94. And get Fiji Blue. Trust me. LOL. Every person that has an Si that I know, wishes they had my color, especially the guys with NHBP, because everyone has that damn color. For me, it was between NHBP and FBP, and I am sooooo glad I went with FBP. Next to it, the NHBP is boring. Just my opinion. LOL. Either way get an Si.

I'm almost positive that the EX-L is the only one with navigation. I looked into an Si, and decided it wasn't worth it. I bought an EX-L, get 34MPG on average, and I love, LOVE I mean LOVE the leather, with navigation. Get the EX-L, the extra 4K for another 50 HP isn't worth it.. That's the only difference. I got a huge hook up on my EX-L, and only paid 20K for it out the door. You shouldn't waste the money on an Si.

Yes it's worth it. For a while I was adamant that the SI was too underpowered in its segment to justify the cost, but after driving everything I've just come this conclusion - the Si is just 'fun' to drive. Take out a mazdaspeed3, even with 60 more hp (really only like 30 because the SI dynos at around 185 and the Mazda at only around 215) and even double the torque and you can easily see even there that it's just not as raw and fun as the SI is.

Haha..this guys a moron. I paid $20,359 for my HRP 08' Si Sedan...and yes, it has a nav system. So for the extra $359 I got everything he got...except I got a real motor to go with it. GET THE Si...don't settle for the 1.8 liter...they're slower than my old EP3.

Well, I am ABSOLUTELY positive you are wrong. With the Si, you can get Nav. Also since, I got my Si for just below $22k (with foglights installed), the gap between yours and mine is only $2k. You get a lot more than 50 hp for the extra money too. You get a much better handling car. Also, the seats in an Si are much much nicer. You get the 6 speed transmission, which needs to be driven to truly understand how fun this car is. The interior looks a lot better than any leather one does. Leather in a civic just looks silly to me, I'm sorry. I don't believe for a second you "decided" not to buy the si. I think your mommy and daddy wouldn't let you get the si. And, if you actually test drove one, you'd know it was far from just "50 hp" better than the EX-L.

<TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote, originally posted by victor.m &raquo;</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote">So I'm pretty close to putting down the cash and financing an '08 Si. My advice to you is, buy it. Every person I know (including my sister), that got a non-si 8th gen civic, says "I wish I got the Si" everytime they ride in my car. You'll regret it if you don't. You want a sexy car? Get the Si. You want to look like a soccer mom? Get a non-si. Test drive it, and test drive a non-si, and the experience itself, will probably answer the question for you. The si comes fully loaded. The only interior options you really have are the navigation and a self dimming compass mirror. LOL. It has a sunroof, power windows, power mirrors, steering wheel audio controls, red gauges, a kick *** stereo, *** hugging seats, aluminum pedals, etc. Here is the bottom line. Do you want a car that you are excited to drive every time you drive it, people stare at it because how sexy it looks/sounds, that is quick at hell, and fun to drive? Then, get the Si. Otherwise, keep your money. All of the new civics are great cars, but they are slow and will leave you disappointed stock. My bone stock 4 dr '94 Accord Ex can beat my sister's '06 EX Coupe and gets better gas mileage.

naw si's have navi 2....... Plus im right behind your 20 k with 21 k and I have a big *** motor compared to your mini motor lol. No disrespect to R18's but Si's are so much better. Oh and 20k on a EX-L is a fudgen rip off sorry . Ask anyone, most pay like 20-24k for the si. Comes with better handeling,hp,6speed,better seats, better lighting cuz red looks better than blue imo, plus its just all around better for the money you pay.

You payed like 4k for leather seats ha ha

I paid 21 thow and I got a alabaster silver 4 door. Get it its worth the money... besides its gonna last you like 342452345237626 billion years like all honda's do lol.

Are you for real? 50 HP is all you get for 2k more? How about a nicer interior (better seats, red gauges look better IMO), 6 speed tranny, LSD, good suspension, a motor with great power potential, nicer wheels, etc etc.. fact is, there is no point in getting any other model if you want performance. You can get navi on an SI as well. Also.. there's no way an EX-L is 4k cheaper than the SI. A regular EX is only like 2-3k cheaper than an SI to begin with..

You're all missing the most important thing this kid said: 34MPG! the SI gets almost 10 miles less per gallon than that. Yeh, it's slow, but your not getting real speed from ANY model Civic. I bought my LX for the gas mileage, reliability, and low depreciation (and it looks more badass than the YARIS or FIT)

If you want affordable speed, go buy a bike and you'll be in the 10's right out the box.

si ftw. i wasn't even looking to buy, when i test drove my si. i had an ep3, that i was pretty happy with. it put a smile on my face, almost every drive. then i test drove the si for fun...i bought the si the next day. it's worth it. for the money, you won't find a more enjoyable drive. leave the leather for the tl owners, and get the si, with navi, and everything that makes a car fun to drive...

wish I got navi! and yes the radio does sound good but I needed a little more boom. so I added a amp and sub it was very easy with a line level converter and works great with the stock speaker. not too much a good all around sound . the SI is the best bang for the buck. nothing even comes close for the money.

Yeah... I miss mine daily, and im in a RSX Type-S now. Si &gt; &gt; &gt; &gt; &gt; &gt; Type-S

It just handles AMAZING... its not really a FAST car... but man, put some good tires, $600 or so of rubber, and its near impossible to get that thing off the pavement unless you just drive right off on purpose.

In fact, they do. I get 40mpg out of my 05 ZX-6R.

For the record, I love the SI. Wish I had the extra $ for one. But for me, the extra $ off the sticker and the extra gas mileage was worth more to me than the extra performance.
