Okay so my dealership just took in a white with tan interior 2004 TSX. It's six speed with navigation with one owner which is exactly what I want. It also has a spotless carfax and drives like a dream with all service records. Exterior wise it's pretty clean but there are some minor scratches on the back bumper which I can have repaired easliy. The car has new tires with no curb rash on the wheels. The trunk kinda smelled like faint mildew though. As far as the interior goes it was pretty mint just a little dirty. All the ***** and switches worked. Navi worked flawlessly. Now the only problem I have it the Mileage. This thing has 97263 miles!!!!!! My price for the car would be $12k. NADA book value for trade in is $14,275 and retail is $16,560 give or take. Judging by your past experiences, should I buy this car? If I did are there any precations I should take? Oh I forgot to mention the car was owend by a gentlemen in his mid 40's so it's not ragged on. Thanks in advance everyone.

The milage wouldn't scare me, but the mildew smell would. Is the trunk leaking?

 

my car had around the same milgae +/- but id didnt come with navi and it didnt smell and the interior was FLAWLESS and i mean interior to truck was MINT MINT. i degreased the engine bay and that was that. only the front bumper had stone chips from all that driving but i was a good buy for me... go for it if u can get rid of that sticky smell in trunk. my car, didnt like like they put anything in it. they didnt even use the jack, and the tires are new too

 

I went out to feel around in the trunk after it rained pretty hard and it wasn't wet so now I'm 100% sure it's not leaking. I decided to go ahead and buy the car but now I'm having problems with financing. No one will finance a car with almost 100k on the odometer. Any suggestions?

I say go for it.....that mileage for a honda engine is nothing ..... plus the service records should reassure you that it's a good buy. The smell in the trunk might be from the previous owner washing the floor mats and leaving them in the trunk ....or from leaving wet chamois, towels absorbers etc in there.

 

he already said someone else bought it before he did.
