Piaa GTX Vs. Ion Crystal
Thanks to the 1 year warranty by Piaa I just replaced my $100 bulbs. I originally had the yellow ion crystal bulbs (9006), and decided to change to the Super Plasma GT-X (9006), but I was very disappointed by the difference in output. My ion crystals were really bright and had a nice color to it, and trusting piaa's standards changed to the purple bulb, and it is not bright at all. I don' t think the output even compares to any regular bulb.
So I guess I'm wondering if I got a defect, or it's supposed to be like this, and if it is then why would the bulb be so expensive if it really isn't THAT purple/blue and it's not bright at all

Piaa Super Plasma GT-X bulbs don't have much usable light. You don't have a defect.
Despite this, Piaa Super Plasmas are my favorite bulbs. My foglights help compensate for their poor visibility.
I know Piaa Super Whites and Xtreme Whites have better light output than the Super Plasmas, so you may want to try those.
