Default Hole in brand new header...

Just installed my header on saturday... Was driving today in medium traffic going about 40mph, I glanced over into my blind spot and started to change lanes when THUMP, hit something... Car starts to sound like a lawn mower. Just looking for some advice. What I really want to hear is that it's not that bad, and it can be fixed. I'm so angry I could die. 400 Dollars out the door on this one if it's unfixable. Even if it's fixable, what kind of loss of performance should I expect? This is driving me crazy right now. Thanks guys

What brand did you get? your header is done, unless you are desperate and weld a piece of metal to patch the hole.

Was editing this post as em12nv posted his advice.

You might be able to weld it. I know of someone that weld theirs but from the top. He said it didnt lose power.

Let's hope so, I'm gonna hit the muffler shop tomorrow and see what happens

My car is embarassing to drive, I was tempted to just call AAA to tow it.. haha.

which dealer did you buy it from? i doubt any dealer of the product would just cover something that they have no control over. this isn`t like a manufacturing problem. better yet, why don`t you contact highendautosports.com?

That is easily repairable man. I have done worse. With a little finesse and cold slow welds, it can be fixed without even changing the ID of the header.

I dont know, traffic was kinda heavy and I was in the middle lane. I was too pissed to go back. However what I saw in the corner of my eye looked like some kind of strap system for a truck... Belts and what not. I swear that's what it was, and maybe there was something under it.

I bought it at logic motorsports in anaheim!

man im just riding in header, i got 2pc JG Eldebrock headers and somehow the upper part where you adapt the bottum pice snaped off. liek the welds broke off or something. i guess its from noice vibration or too hot or something to make it break off like that. yours dont look as bad. i hope some shop will be able to fix mines.

It is definitely fixable. You could have someone cut that section of the runner out and replace it with a new piece of tube. Maybe off another header that someone dented on the bottom. Get a good welder to take care of this for you

Did you get the header from Mike @ HighEnd or did you buy it off someone? If you bought it from Mike then go back to him and see what he says about it. He offers lifetime on the FIRST owner. You cant buy it from someone and hope for the warrenty. His a cool guy.

We have made good power with this header (4-1)

You obviously don't know anything about allmotor builds. $400 is not expensive for a HighEnd header. Greddy sucks donkey dick.

I called High End, you're right they're very cool. There isn't much they can do, the header was not faulty. He did offer me a deal on a new one though, so to them. I also called the dealer, I'll let you guys know what happens

good luck although i doubt your dealer would cover that also. might as well take the deal that HighEnd`s giving you then fix the one you have now and sell either one of them

Thats why I got the Profab over the highend/rage/hytech tri-y. The header is basically lined up with the oil pan so the clearance is awesome and makes decent power too
