Default removing crx door trim

i need some help removing the middle door trim on a crx. i took the door off and the door pad off. i got the bottom door trim off but i cant find a way to get the middle trim off. im sure that someone has done this. i just wondered how to do it without bending the trim piece.

its the piece in the white box.

Never done it but if it is anything like most other hondas then take the inner trim panel off and you will see some clips in there. Use a pair of long nose pliers and squeez them together while prying from the outside. This should remove one edge. Then work your way along doing the same for the rest of the clips.

If there are no clips then it is most likely double sided taped on. In this case you can use fishing line, a scraper, a heat gun and a scraper or fishing line. All those things to take it off. I would use a fishing line and a heat gun. Makes less of a mess and less chances of scraping your door with the scraper and maring the plastic. Check if there are nuts as well on the door edges for the moulding.

Also don't leave the heat gun on the moulding too long, you don't want to melt it and you don't want to bubble your paint eather.

no clips on the inside or double side tape
you have to slide the moulding off there is a 10 mm nut on the inside of the door u have to take off to get the moulding off, an easyier way would be take the fender off

the way to do it is two find the position of the clips on the door skin and put two screwdrivers into the trim and pop it off. i scratched the pain t up bad but im guessing ur repainting it anyways. i bent up a pair my first time doing it and had to get new ones at a junk yard. its difficult not to bend them. good luck!

ive never taken them off (i actually left mine on when i painted my car) but i was told when you take off the interior door panel you should be able to see the clips from the inside, and you need to squeeze them and push them out.

No they are not visable from inside the door. You have to take two screw drivers like said a few posts ago and push on the clips top and bottom. Do a search, I know I seen a pics of this trick in some other thread.

it wasn't on a search, it was of those random encounters on some thread about some guy painting his car or something.

i tried to slide the trim off but it didnt move at all. i did what a later post told me to do with the screwdriver thing and broke almost all the clips. but when i looked at the trim there is no way that it could actually slide off. the last clip by the fender is mounted in the trim. it doesnt slide like the rest.

maybe you just sacrifice the last clip to slide the rest off?

i had that same problem when i first removed mine. its weird bc they sell that clip at honda like it would slide out. what i did was use a tiny cut off wheel and was very carful and cut that clip out, then i sanded it smooth and slid the clip in.

BUT BE CAREFUL NOT TO CUT IN THE WRONG PARTS!!!!
