Picked this up a bit ago. Traded a guy in Ohio for it. It runs really well with 120,000 KM on it. I've ground out most rust and done the basic safety like brakes, lights, etc. I've got to figure out what direction to take it motor wise as far as the -keep it stock its rare-or-it's still worth it to gain a few hp. Body wise, I will need a fender and a full respray. When I got it the right front crossmember (where the lower ctl. arm bolts) was bent in from an accident, which is where the fender got bumped. I had that straightened at a local shop at the cost of $300, which I thought was fair. It seems that the black/grey interior was not offered in the us, as well as the rear wiper, and the obvious mirrors. I have zero info on the xr model, if you know anything about it or maybe a japanese prelude forum... that may be helpful to me. Enjoy some pics from my nappy camera.

I need this piece if you have one

pretty cool project man. i'd say stock it.. do some internal mods and such. those cars are so hard to come by anyways, that the USDM ones are rare enough as it is! pimp fender mirrors, too!

Thanks, the fender mirrors are surprisingly easy to use, they allow a full side view when parking. just a pain to adjust.
It'd hard to prove, but it seems like the only one ever brought to America, or that is left here at least.

I think I would restore it mainly, but if you can find some period-correct parts like older Mugen wheels or some good engine upgrades go for it.
Good luck on the project

that would be great finding some period correct parts. It would be cheaper to move to california as far as shipping seems to go, everything left is on the West coast (no pun intended).
I really am leaning towards an EL/weber swap, the engine is still technically the same...

Have you looked on preludepower in the 1st and 2nd gen forums? Some good info in there...

for sure. bummer I only have three, one of the rears are missing, not that you could see em anyways. They actually have snaps that attach to the seat frame bolts so they don't slide around. neat design I thought. I have cleaned them up really nicely, I'll get some pics once my computer starts working right. my good one with the card reader pooped, and I lost my usb cable for the camera... oops I'll have it fixed soon.

my 86 2gen si had earned close to 300k when I traded it in for my 00 5gen. I heart preludes.
Almost warm enough to work comfortably in the garage... I'm going to order a clutch today
still working out the title
our secretary of state assures me that one way or another I will get a title... hopefully sooner than later.
