ITR Cams on a GSR question
What's a good VTEC Crossover setting for a GSR with ITR cams and a stock intake manifold? My guess would be 4400 (stock x-over) and butterflies at 5750 just like stock, is this wrong?
Most likely you are off a bit. My '97-98 ITR cams (both P/Ns end in J00) have a crossover of 4800 RPM. With the stock ECU, there was a noticeable torque drop from 4400-4800 RPM, as the VTEC engaged too early. If you have the '00-01 cams, the crossover will be different.

He is right. I have 01 itr cams in my gsr and it feels like it gives out for a second and then picks back up.

Sweet spot on my 2000 with I/H/E was about 4900 before I spun a bearing in my old motor. Without raising it from the GSR stock point you will have a dip in power briefly. But those cams will pull a bunch more from 7K-8200. Makes me want to install mine again in my new motor. damn.
