Slips out of 5th gear
I have a 92 prelude 4ws 5 spd that slips out of 5th gear, I basically have to push it and hold it so It won't come out of 5th. I was told it might be a syncronicer on the tranny. but befor I buy another tranny I want to know if it could be something else before I get ripped off. cuz fixing it will cost more than bying a used one.
I also have a 95 civic ex 5spd. it grinds when I shift to 3rd. they say it might me the clutch. it also grinds on 1st when I'm slowing down to stop and put it on 1st.
Any answers will be appreciated.

check your trans. fluid, it could be bone dry.
(long story short) bought my 2nd lude and drove it around for about 2 months with no problem, then one day it started popping out of 5th, then it locked up.
checked the fluid, nothing.
after basically burning the clutch out of it. we got it to run through the gears again.

definitely check your fluids. as for the grinding, you may be able to remedy it with Syncromesh. I don't think that will do much for the popping out...
Tranny on the prelude just needed oil. Once again you guys saved my *** from getting raped. Thank you so much, honestly, I rely on Honda Tech more than rip-offs mechanics.
