I recently had the rotors and brake pads changed on my gf's 96 Accord (I was short on time, so I payed a shop to do it). Well, apparently when my girlfriend drove the car home it was making some noise, but she failed to tell me imediatley.
So I drove it and the thing sounds like it's going to fall apart every time I hit a bump. I pulled the front wheels off and everything looks good and all bolts are tight. Is there anything else it could be?
The funny thing is it only makes this horrid rattling sound when the brakes are NOT applied.
Thanks

Did they replace the rotors? I believe on that year they have to be pressed off and maybe they left something loose or did a sloppy job. Check EVERYTHING, axle nut, lower ball joint, wheel bearing for play, etc.
My guess is the shop didn't replace the pad shims and or paste between them. So now the pads are rattling inside the callipers, until you hit the brakes. Problem now is the shop probably threw away the old shims, so you would have to buy some.
