Honda dealership can't get parts for Acura??
so its about time to replace everything under the sun. sparkplug wires, valve cover gasket, o2 sensor, coolant lines, fuel filter, pcv, oil change, all that ****. so the caring man i am decide to use original Honda replacement parts to keep the car happy.
i call up Honda of Tiffany Springs and tell them what i need. they say they can't do it. i ask why not? they say because its an Acura. and i am thinking in my head "no its not, no its not, no its not..." and i kindly explain to him its a Honda D16A1 DOHC and he still refuses. so why can't i get parts from a honda dealer just because of my Acura VIN?? now i have to get parts from the "Acura" dealer thats freakin 30-40 miles south.

Go to http://www.hondapartsunlimited.com order what you need there, their prices are really cheap and probably still cheaper than getting them from your local honda dealer even after paying for shipping. I buy parts for my integras there all the time. The reason they can't look it up is cause some honda dealers don't have the program that looks up acura applications, but if you give them part numbers they are pretty cool about it. For example, some b16 (del sol dohc and 99-00 si) part numbers are the same for gsr, If you tell them the b16 part number and don't tell them its for a gsr they will be able to look it up.
Look at the links in my signature. Honda will not have all of your parts, but they will have many. Simply provide the part numbers to them for what you need.
HONDA only dealers cant even look up acura parts i work for a honda dealer i have a cross reference book that i use cause many parts cross u just provide them w/ part # or nkow who to ask for
many motor parts will be the same as em1's
as for suspension will be the same as eg's
i had no problem getting many many parts through honda dealerships, except for a gsr rod...

That's a common problem. Some dealerships want nothing to do with modified cars.

You can order by part number. I don't care what else it is for, as long as it is the same part. I often use a 2000 Civic Si for B18C1 parts.

You can always order Acura parts at a discount from the places mentioned in this topic.
oK.... here is a quick rundown because obviously the O.P. ain't that bright.
Just because your engine says "Honda" it doesn't mean that the vehicle is...hence why it's an ACURA Integra.
In Japan/Europe you go to your Honda dealer for both Acura and Honda parts but over in North American they are considered two different entities thus Honda can't look up Acura and vice versa. Why? No idea. It's annoying but whatever.
If you can get the part #'s for what you're looking for there is an off chance that they can get stuff.
For instance I can get Integra Type-R cams through Honda but I can't get a a B18 head gasket.
You wouldnt' go to your ford dealership to purchase parts for your Jaguar (or until recently Aston Martin) would you? Just because the Ford owns(owned) them doesn't mean you get the parts there.
Ignorance should be a crime!

maybe thats how it works in Canada, but here in the US, you can get Acura Parts at Honda dealers, you just have to dumb it down for them.

You can get the "Acura" parts at the Honda dealership if the parts are shared by a "Honda" model. Many parts are unique to Acura and a Honda dealer cannot get them. If the Honda dealer carries the "Acura" part, all that you need to provide is the part number to place the order. They do not need to know what vehicle the part is intended for.

that doesnt make sense at all. I had the same problem when i went to a honda dealer in order to get paint for my integra. I figured they would keep acura parts at the dealer too but i guess not...

Honda might make Acura but they are 2 different things. I work for Honda parts and we can only get Acura parts with the part # and only if it crosses to a Honda part. Our computer systems are not capable of looking up Acura's and every thing is done by VIN. So if you call a Honda only dealer make sure you have PN's ready or the answer you'll get is we can't do it. We also cary Toyota and I get tons of calls for Lexus parts. It's not the same thing.
