limp mode! solid cel light! 3200 rpm wtf!?!?
Hey guys i have a problem with my motor! Iam running a p72 with a ls vtec. I purchased the car with the motor and computer and it was doing this! when i went to check the cels the cel light stays solid.
the computer has hondata s100,
and it is in limp mode wont let me rev past 3200rpm
what can i look for or change out to fix this? or atleast see my cel codes??
(and yes i do know how to check cels )
thank you any suggestions will help

the p75 is a 94-95 ls automatic ecu meaning non vtec. Yet your running an LSvtec..
Thats one problem, The rest is up to the tuner. Id say get the correct ecu and your good to go. Either a p28 or p72..
and if your not spitting out a code your revlimiter is probably set to that rpm for launch control.. i can only assume anyways. You need to get to a tuner so he can download new rom to get rid of the light, and the launch control.
My Hondata had a light that turned on after a few mins driving. It was a glitch in the rom..

oh ok hahahaha.. you should be good. Have you tryed taking it to your tuner, or any tuner for that matter??
I dont know what else might be the cause of it though.. limp mode is usually a 20mph top speed on ECU's. Not a rev limit. So my guess is your ecu is fine but its the program playing tricks on you.

Did you try another ECU and still have the same problem? If not then NO. If it was something else the car shouldnt start, or if it did it would be fine. SOLID CEL = bye bye ecu. Now if there is something your not telling us then yes. THEN something else could be wrong and your not helping us help you.

Well iam gonna try another ecu when I get out of work. So well see
And its on a rhd converted car with a jdm cluster, and to check the cel there's two plugs one with 2 wires and other one with 3 wires. I tried to check the one with two wires and the cel stayed solid.
But when I turn the ignition on all the lights turn on (cel, oil, srs, etc,) but they never turn back off. I thought that the oil light should turn off. They all stay solid
Or am I wrong??

That really doesnt make much sense. Now im starting to think you dont know how to check the codes and thats why your getting solid. You turn the car to ONII and then have the check engine light turn on then off (normally), oil light stays on (until you get oil pressure), SRS should turn off (i think dont remember last time i saw that one). Then you jump the 2P plug and read the codes. Doesnt matter weither you have LHD, RHD, BSHD, USDHD. As long as you use that plug to jump the ecu (or jump it straight), itll work work that way.

Hey thanks for the help but I've done that soooo many times I KNOW HOW TO CHECK CELS!! My question is simple what causes a p72 to go into limp mode other than a fried ecu.
srs stays on for about 6 sec's.
The engine light makes it into limp mode, Something is not right in your system..
I have to agree with him^^^, Are you using a paper clip to stick into the blue connector to check for codes?

Could this cause it to be in limp mode</TD></TR></TABLE>
And you have found your problem. If the chip is not in or installed propertly then its going to run like **** (like it is). Get a new chip and a new burn and see what happens.
