Broken ball joint
this is for the outer tie rod, the one that connects to the back of the knuckle. instead of a ball joint popper i just tapped it a few times with the hammer. when i reassembled every thing i noticed i must have hit it wrong because the threads on the tie rod/balljoint bolt kinda closed in. thus, i couldnt get the nut back in. is there a re-threaad tool i can go buy or use?
edit: found my solution, thanks!

Not sure if its fixable or not.
But for next time, I've seen people put the castle nut back on at the tip and then use the hammer to hit the balljoint as to not mushroom the bolt.

you could probably get a die to fit that. although, i've bought some die's in the past and they are not cheap, for a good one at least.
yeah a new ball joint is probably the quickest and least expensive option. its not that difficult to remove and replace that ball joint either. I've done both my lower ball joints within the last few months.
Just disconnect the knuckle and have a go at it!

the ball joint boot is still fine, but like i stated, the bolt is mushroomed. are all the ball joints the same and can i get them from places like autozone?

ok you just confused me.
are you talking about the big ball joint that goes through the knuckle and into the lower conrol arm?
or are you talking about the outer tie rod?
