Camshaft dilemma
Im currently in the process of reubilding my B18C head. Ive instaled supertech bronze valve guides, supertech valve giude seals. Now I plan on going with skunk 2 dual valvesprings and supertech aluminum magnesium alloy retainers and some supertech hi-comp valves along with a mugen head gasket, and a mild porting. But I still havent decided wich cams should I go with, im thinking about skunk 2 stage 1, or skunk 2 stage 2. I will be keeping my stock gsr manifold, and maybe go with a jdm itr header. I have the cash to purchase either one, but I dont know wich would be best for my setup, it is a DB1 daily driven, I would like some decent power out of it still on 91 octane. Should I go ahead and get stage 2, or is it too much cam for my setup?
[QUOTE=micha]Here is the most important question. What is your CR? [/QUOTE
well the stock cr, is 10.1:1 with the mugen headgasket it raises it to 10.5:1 and the valves raise it to 0.3-0.5 to aprox CR would be about 10.8:1-11.0:1.
GRAF-ITI So do you suggest the stage 2? According to skunk 2 the stage 2 cams work best using their intake manifold, I still would like to keep my oem manifold though

You could keep your manifold but like skunk 2 says they work best with theirs. From what i understand, i'm not a pro engine builder. But you'll be able to take advantage of the sk2 manifold by having a build head. Rather than just someone bolting on the manifold expecting performance gains. I can't immagine that it would be that noticable tho, you might be able to make a little more midrange by getting rid of the IAB's. Seems to make sence to me.
