Default Running lights stay ON, headlight switch? 94 Accord

The running lights stay on, on my 94 Accord EX, even after switching them off on the headlight switch. This happened after unplugging the battery for a while (to keep the battery inside the house because car sits in storage in the garage). When I plugged in the battery again, the running lights come on and stay on, no matter if I try to switch them on or off. I've replaced the headlight switch 4 months ago when this same thing happened. It took care of it then, but it was after that that I put the car in storage. Now, same problem, but I doubt a new headlight switch would go out that quick. Any help would but much appreciated. Thanks!

I looked under the dash all around but found no DRL unit. Is there only DRL units in Canadian models, not US models? Daytime Running Lights consists of which lights being on? Because for me, the side marker lights and taillights are on, like when they'd normally be switched to parking lights. When I open the door, it makes that chime sound, as if the car's telling me I left my lights on, but I have the switch at completely off. I can switch them to fully on too, so the headlight swtich works in that respect. But it's as if the parking/running lights are stuck on. Another question I have: is there a difference between parking lights and running lights?

Thanks

Running Lights usually goes with the daytime running lights.

Which lights are on?

Parking lights would be just the corners and tails (one click)

Headlights (2 clicks) <-- what you're calling running lights?

Highbeams (pull)

The wand may be broken, if you've got a junkyard near ya I'd try to snag one of those.

The parking lights are on. I was mixed up about the terminology of running lights. The corners and tails are on. I looked really hard but couldn't find a DRL unit. However, I did find a bright blue connector like it shows on that webpage, where it would connect to the DRL unit, but with my car it straps into another wiring harness with no DRL unit. One of the wires going to that is melted and exposed, so I taped it up with electrical tape, but I'm hoping the wire isn't melted all the way on up to the headlight switch. I remember when I bought the car it had the wrong fuses in it (higher than what it should be), and I know that can cause electrical problems. I've had the headlight switch/wand replaced a few months ago cause it was doing it then too. It might be hopeless, so I'ma sell the car probably lol
