Default 1997 prelude

thinking about buying a 1997 prelude. it has 72k miles on it. its a autostick. i was on a different website and pretty much everyone told me not to get it because the tranny will go out on me. what do you guys think?

Yeah, the SS trannies are not very reliable some of the time. You could take a chance on it if you like the car or the price is good...or do a manual swap.

You will be fine... especially with those low miles. Install a Tranny cooler as soon as you get it and it will last a long time. I personally had an auto prelude fail on me but I didnt know about the tranny coolers at the time.

okay sounds good. how much do the tranny coolers cost you. are they easy to put in or would i have to have someone else put it in.

They should be around $70-80 and it shouldn't be too hard to put in. I have not personally installed one but its a simple oil cooler.

i havent even got it yet or dunno if im getting it for sure. but so i dont have to create another thread. what are some other good mods that would make it run better\faster or somthing like that?

Uhhh...a full tune up is the best place to start. Then read the Prelude FAQs.
