Default Traction issue in 1st :: Not referring to a burnout

When I'm driving in 1st gear around 2k rpms and I go pedal to metal at around 4-5k rpms I just spin straight to redline. This has really been bothering me lately. It started when I installed my euro-r and Innovative mounts. Both were installed same day so if they are the issue I'm not sure which one. After euro-r install I got tuned. 188/152. After that I tried going full throttle in 1st and I cant. I recently put new suspension on b/c front shocks were pretty much shot hoping that might relieve some my problem, but did nothing. I know 188/152 isn't mad power and I should be able to keep it to the ground keep in mind this is not doing burnouts. Normal driving and then punching it in 1st. Anyone have similar problems? Do you think this could be related to bad tie rods in the front?

Are your tires ok? I don't see it being tie rods at all. My prelude does this in 1st, 2nd, and 3rd if I punch it be happy you only do it in 1st

I think the torque is your issue: 152 to the ground when a stock motor puts out 160 to the crank, sounds like you have a pretty healthy motor . Probably time to invest in some stickier tires

Sounds to me like your bragging, not questioning for understanding jk.

So your tires are slipping right?,..its not like your 1st gear is slipping?

If tires are just spinning on the ground, than your torque is the culprit. Put some "bedder" rubber on man!! Theres lots of methods to better put your power to the pavement.

I'm sure theres probably even multiple topics in the "area", I need not mention for it has been said 3094803980472047023984 gagillion times. Oh,...it IS red though,
...I think I can say that atleast, without looking like an "***".

*edit* Oh, your driving paterns will need adapt as your car's performance level increase, its like driving your buddies stick 5L mustang for the first time. The gas can't be stomped untill certain areas or your just gonna peel out because of the amount of Torque at that particular period of Time.

this is my best friends car and since he isnt on right now. i will answer a few questions. the rims are 16"x8.5" wide rota boosts with kuhmo ecsta spts. i believe they are 225s. not exactly sure. but he has plenty of tire contact patch. i personally think and have told him i think that he jsut ahs good power. i dont think there is anything wrong with the car.

My H23 will spin the tires all through first if I floor it, no problem. Then it will start to spin around 3000 in 2nd all the way up... I also have the Innovative mounts like you do, so we really don't get wheel hop, just tire spin.

I would say it's pretty normal (no parts are worn out), but the best thing for it would probably be some better tires and/or lower tire pressure, and if you stiffen up your suspension so not as much weight will transfer to the rear that will help too.

I have had these same BF Goodrich g-force sports for almost 4 1/2 years now, but I recently rotated them. There probably about 60-70% tread left on the fronts...

Hopefully some Azenis will be in my future

16x7.5 rims not x8.5 kumho excta spt 225/45/16. I rotated tires from rear up front trying that. Prolly had 90% tread...no difference. Now Im not talking about goosing it off the line and going through the gears. Im talking about driving at ~5 mph and stepping on it. im good till around 5k rpms then tires spin. And no lol not bragging I really dont like this problem lol. It didnt do this until i installed the euro r and mounts. I got new suspension that ima try sitffening soon. letting it all "break" in. only been on the car for 4 days. 10k fronts 8k rears. I was hoping it was worn parts so i can fix them and get more power through 1st. I have yet to do a real burnout since the tune. Kinda worried ima just hop and spin all day.

I am not impressed with the Kumho SPT's nor the tires they replaced such as the ecsta 711 and 712. just cheap performance tires with not great traction if you ask me.

my car does the same. just a tuned jdm h22. it'll spin all the way through first and tear up second. i think an lsd would really help.

they all do that. if you rly need the traction, get smaller wheels and tires with a bigger sidewall and better tread compound

get a Traction bar....................plus if u have some old springs,u can put the old front sprins on the rear, u will haft 2 cut em some, but u wont have no where as near much weight transfer...alot of people i know who drag race do it, including me.

I do have a traction bar setup in mine, but it really just eliminated the wheel hop. Still spins like crazy....seems like it's mostly a tire issue.

what kind LSD are u using? ur right about the wheel hop with the traction bar. I thought i read it somewhere he was having wheel hop as well.....check ur camber, tire pressure is a biggie, and i have never heard anything good at all about kumos(cumhoes).... they could be new or old..just get some nitto drag radials, their not 2 slick so if u get caught out in the ran its not 2 bad......Dude here look at my car, traction isnt that bad of and issue, as long as i got slicks on. lol.... here check it.... good luck with it..

factory lsd. I wish i didnt buy the kumhos they are decent tires for dd. last a while, but make a good bit of noise. and now apparently suck for traction. If i find some azenis or something around used i might grab a pair, but for now with like 80% tread still i guess im kinda stuck. as far as the spring thing Im gunna try going to stiffest setting in the rear and half way in the front see how that does.
