Making stock rear sway bar work with K-Sport lca's on 98 GSR?

So I got my new suspension installed, K-Sport coilovers, and everything suspension wise is lined up correctly. The problem comes when trying to connect the factory sway bar end links to the new lower control arms (which are K-Sport also). The end links of the factory sway bar sit about an inch away from the bolt holes for the new lca's, due to the lca's not having the same bend as the stock control arms. Has anyone encountered this with this setup and what has been done to make it work?
Side note: I contacted K-Sport directly and they told me to use longer bolts and a 1 inch rubber bushing. It seems to me that there would be too much slop in a rubber bushing for the sway bar to be effective using this method.
Only reply if you have something worth a **** to say. Thanks!
