Default Brace Discussion/Theory: Jointed, Adjustable designs VS. Single Piece (welded, non-adjustable) Desi

As the topic says,
Jointed, Adjustable designs VS. Single Piece (welded, non-adjustable) Design.

Which is preferred, and why? General discussion should lead to insightful knowledge (sort of like a college classroom).

As far as THEORY is concerned:
- Support statements with fact, and;
- Cite sources of information (if possible/ as necessary)

I know there are n00bs on honda-tech, so try to keep flaming to a minimum on this thread. Don't hate. Everyone starts somewhere.
