i have searched alittle but i am trying to be sure. i am buying a b16 cable trans for my 91 lsvtec hatch build. how can i be sure that it is a b16 trans. what what the code be.. thanx in advance.

 

the j1,s1 are jdm b16 with the 4.40 finall drive. also though some of the u.s ls's have the s1 to and they have a 4.40 final but longer gears. the a1's are also u.s ls's and have a 4.40 with longer gearing. the y1 is the worst,it is from a jdm b16 and has a lsd but has a weak 4.26 final drive.
in my opinion the j1 and jdm s1 are the best with the shorter gearing but the u.s s1 and a1 are still pretty good cause the still have the 4.40 final drive. unless you really need one to drive stay away from the y1 its slow as poop
