Default help with fitment of cf hood

hey guys i got a cf hood today... i put it on amd its not going aall the way down in the front. its a huge gap.

where in the front is it not closing all the way .. the sides of the front or the center

if its the center ... you need to lower your hood lock, if its the sides try moving down the rubber bumpers by spinning them

yeah i lowered them and even took them out still did not lock down its the center in the latch it was working fine with last hood

youll need to adjust your hood latch it is held by several 10mm bolts until your hood latch fits the stock one

that was previous convo. it was un helpful whatever could stop the hood from going down. it slides down.. but it is not locking.

thanks

honda hoods are made to be very adjustable. usually aftermarket c/f hoods fit like ****. and the less you pay for it usually the worse it is. you can try adjusting the hood stops on the radiator support. but dont expect it to look like your oem hood. its just not goin to happen

I bought a JSP cf hood for my '93 Civic and for a while I hated the fitment but then I loosened the bolts where it bolts onto the hood hinge and set the hood to where I wanted it and I got a perfect fit. Its all about time and patience to get that perfect fit you want. Mess around with it a bit and you see the results you want. Btw having 1 or 2 people to help you isn't a bad thing either. Friends FTW

I had a VIS hood for my '93 civic also, after awhile i had issues latching it. It seemed that the springs were too strong so the light hood wouldn't latch. a recommendation i recieved was to get new softer springs for the latch.

c/p from civicforums:

Second you'll have to buy a new latch spring. It's hard to close the hood, right? You'll need a weaker latch spring. I bought one from Home Depot. Just take out the stock one and go to Home Depot to look for a similiar spring. It will be weaker if it has more coils than the stock one. Look for chrome plated, so it remains shiny!
