Car idle really bad after cold air intake installed

i think it might be the MAF, its not upright but sitting sideways

Could it also be it has to learn that theres much more air coming in than before?

what brand of intake?

check and recheck your maf, that thing alone can cause many problems.

also make sure everything is nice and tight. hoses and pipes and such..

i heard that if the maf is not working correctly the check engine light will come on.

so the plug is facing towards the inject stamp on that picture?

this is where its supposed to be facing as shown in the directions...and i think it only fits one way?

check for any leaks, especially by the tb. is everything tighten down?

its more like as if that pipe is turned left so the plug is facing down

does it have to be level to receive an accurate reading?

Maybe positioned wrong but then again, I don't know how you could have done it wrong. Pretty straight forward when I did mine.

Oh, if you probably haven't already noticed: Poor acceleration at low rpm took some time getting used to. I don't know if the hesitation/bog has to do with the MAF or the design but it is definitely much more pronounced on the new SI*.

* okay, in all honesty, the bog is terrible

Yeah the cel will be on if u disconnect the MAF without disconnecting the Battery first...
Then the computer realizes that the Maf is connected and goes away.

I didn't unplug my battery before I installed my intake and I haven't had any problems.

A CAI on a new SI decreases acceleration off the line?!?!
