Depends on year model, some shut off during off-throttle coasting to increase fuel mileage. But don't even ask me which years/models, because I definitely don't remember... lol...

Im pretty sure no 92-00 civic has that.
YOu do have a point tho, no fuel is being used when you are coasting, but that doesnt mean the fuel pump isnt on. Pump is always on, but the injectors are whats controlling the input, mainly based on TPS reading. Think of it like a faucet, theres always pressure, but its not always coming out at the same rate all the time.

Oh yeah, it's definitely newer models.

Injectors don't control the input... ECU controls the input based on readings from the TPS, ECT, IAT, MAP, H2OS and a few other minor sensors. Injectors are considered an output, or driver function of the ECU.

Yea thats what i meant, sorry for any confusion. I know full well injectors dont control input, they are whats putting the fuel in, based on ECU readings from all the manifold sensors.

If you cruise downhill in 5th gear, you'll get the best gas mileage.... ever.
