I NEED RECOMMENDATION FOR A TIRE SIZE FOR A 19X7.5" RIMS!
HERES THE DEAL...I GOT AN 06 SEDAN EX WITH THE CURRENT STOCK HONDA ALLOY RIMS. I ALREADY PURCHASED MY "RAYS G-GAMES" 19X7.5". IM ALSO PLANNING ON LOWERING MY CAR WITH TEIN S-TECH WITH -1.4 FRONT AND -1.3 REAR. I NEED TO KNOW A GOOD TIRE SIZE SO THAT IT WON'T RUB!!! I WAS CURRENTLY PONDERING 225/40/19! PLEASE INFORM ME OF ANY GOOD NEWS!!
TURN OFF THE DAMN CAPS LOCK!!!
and 7.5 wide wheels are pretty small for a 19" In my opinion.
you should be good with your 225's, 215's woould work too

my wheels right now are 17x7.5 with 215/45 tires. why 19s. that is huge for a civic.
215's on a 7.5" wheel is the best option.
But 19's? Is this a joke?
Good luck trying to get anywhere, you'll probably have to run through first gear to get the car rolling...and I mean rolling. Good god

my friend has 19's on his Si. it was the showroom car and his parents got it for him as a surprise graduation present.
its actually not that bad performance wise. sure i looks way too big, but it still beats me lol

We both know it won't be as easy as an Si, and i'm all for the R18

In order to minimize rubbing issues....you'll probably be better off going with a very low profile tire. Most likely a 215/35/19 setup might be your best option. But honestly I don't know if even that setup would avoid bottoming out on your fenders during a turn. Those wheels are pretty big for a Civic...but hopefully that'll help you out.
make sure you get a soft tire, like all seasons because with 19s, anything like falken azenis or bridgestone s-03s is going to be uncomfortable to the point that it will make you hate the car.
I made that mistake when i went with big rims, so my 2 cents

that reminds me. my friend with the 19's on his Si...ionno exactly what happened because i wasnt there.. but he told me that his whole left fender lining completely ripped off. it was near his house so he wasnt driving all drazy. 215/35/19 is his tire size.
just wanted to throw that in there

Did he have a drop on his car? If so that might have contributed to it. 19s COULD fit on a Civic.....but 19s with a drop is a different story. Especially a 1.4/1.3 drop. chances are OP you are going to destroy your fender lining eventually with that drop. Not to mention the tires themselves by bottoming out on the fender soo much. That's a GUARANTEE.
If you're gonna put 19s on your car, then I would advise NOT doing the drop.
