Default coolant spill

I was adding coolant in my crx with my dad and he said start her up and I did but he didnt put the cap back on and out came some coolant all on my engine. Is this really bad because a whole lot didnt get on it and it did smell like coolant after a ride. I just didnt know if it would affect hoses or whatever and belts also

its fine just wash it off with a hose to get rid of the coolant smell or wait till it burns off

not much it was real quick then I killed it. Yes Im using coolant. I dont understand cause I thought I would have to check it with the cap off by keeping on adding. its not overheating or anything I just noticed it was low and wanted to keep up with it.

Its never done that to me, the only way I could see that happening is if there was a lot of air in the system that was forced out.

So that would be a good thing meaning its getting all my air out and once its finished spitting I should start adding I guess and clean my mess up or let it burn off my engine?
