Default Gauge lights don't always come on?!!

i have 2 faze gauges that turn on with my running lights or are supposed to. sometimes one or both of them won't turn on immediately and at some random time as im driving will turn on but once there on they never turn back off. what could be causing this?

Sounds like a loose or bad connection to the illumination wire (possibly a blue scotch lock). What you should do is trace the illumination wires from the inverter and see where and how they are connected.

thats what i was thinking at first but if thats what it was why would it be fine once it came on, cuz i've gone on long drives and never had them turn back off. once there on there on for good.

It sounds like a loose connection were there is a minor amount of resistance that over time the build up of electrical energy or vibration closes the gap that's keeping power from flowing. It could be as simple as a loose wiring harness, a loose ground or a bad connection at the supply wire.... It's alot easier to check connections than speculate on what it could be.
