Two FAST Hatchs(PICS).......One a Miracle, One Mine...(56K beware)
Ok well I haven't really posted any pics of my car with the swap done yet but here some are. Mines the white one. Which is a 95 CX
The other hatch is my friend Pat's, its a 94 DX, which we took down to Great Lakes Drageway Last night...(Tue) night, and we had that thing bustin' into the 14's and its only a SOHC Vtec with NO mods, well exhaust manifold to nothing, and an intake tube trough the headlight. Not to mention it is stripped, quite a bit. Tar all still in place, rear panels were still in place, dash and door panels still there, and its a daily driver. He bought the hatch for $1700 with the sohc vtec in but vtec wasn't hooked up, so not a problem. Other than that its running on the factory 13's with **** *** tires, and its got some **** *** coilovers too.
-Anyways he was car #129.
-Car #147 was a 93 si hatch with a type R swap.
I was running Pats hatch casue for some reason I can drive it faster. I busted out a 14.7 at 92 mph. I think that is pretty good. I also saw (Hatchmobile) down there too with his 95 cx with b16 swapped.
ENJOY

PROOF

wow.. 14.5 with an R motor in a hatch.. thats pretty fast, seeing as its 2 tenths faster than a 2600lb type R, and a hatch weighs like 2000lbs..
an Si does NOT way 2Klbs. Not a chance, theyre heavier, don't forget, they have power windows, sunroof, and all that other crap that makes you heavier. The type R doesnt come with a sunroof and all that useless ****.

Whoa....not in my thread. The si hatch had full interior, intake, header, exhaust, with 16" rims i think no slicks........and i also beat him off the line.
There was a post that listed the hatch weights and the 92-95 Si weighed 2326lbs. Add some more for the R swap, and you are looking at close to (if not more than) 2500lbs.

That's bad-*** times for the SOHC VTEC, and shitty times for the ITR swap hatch.

Normally I would not rip on the ITR hatch for bad times because I wasn't at the track and i don't know the conditions there, but if the SOHC hatch can run 14.7 I'd say the track isn't the problem...
Anyone notice that the white hatch doesn't have a b18c5 swap... looks like a b18b1 to me. Anyone else agree? See the intake manifold and the valvecover, plus spark plug wire layout doesn't seem right either...
or maybe i'm miss-reading the post and the white hatch is supposed to have a b18b1

You mis-read.
The ITR-powered hatch isn't pictured - it was just the other car on the timeslip.

According to the post, it doesn't seem like he knows what he has in that car. Exposing a paper filter element like that isn't good practice from what I understand, since OEM filters are paper and not a fibre like others(K&N,etc). yes, no?[Modified by SyndicateEG, 1:09 PM 7/3/2002]
I think both those hatchs look clean as hell(probably cause you just washed them
). That guy with the Type R motor needs to improve, but I can't imagine MUCH better times than 14.5 on a stock motor with a car that weighs 2300 pounds.
