Given a 2200lb H4 car with moderate to hard race driving on 205-50-15 RA1s what is an average tread life on a shaved tire.
Yes I know there are MANY factors involved just trying to get some idea.
Thanks

wow, i must drive like grandma. i bought mine not shaved but 'used' and they lasted a full season of de instructing and autocross and there still usable....
I used mine all last season, 16 races! and they were used when i bought them. the fronts finally corded the event after Nats.
I run 225 up front and 205 rears. i just got 2 more used tires for the front that should last me a good while
These ones were free
We will see how the tire wear goes in the front now, with the new setup.

I am using the RA-1 on both the NSX and the ITR. All track use except for some local miles between the track and the hotel. Full tread (8/32"), no shaving. HPDE events, not races. I rotate them front vs rear (on the ITR). When they first start showing belts a little bit, I usually put them on the rear. I use them until either a strip of exposed belt reaches 1/2" wide (usually along an edge) or when there's an individual spot about the size of a quarter (I guess that's about an inch in diameter).
I keep track of the mileage. Starting with new tires and driving them until they reach the point noted above, I usually get 1200-1600 actual track miles plus 300-500 local miles. I can't translate that to "weekends" because the number of track miles in a weekend can be as little as 100 to as much as 500. But actual miles is a better measure anyway.
Anyone who wants to sell some used 205/50-15, shoot me an IM; I can always use 'em.
