adjusting cable trans?
can anyone tell me how to properly adjust my clutch? i know where to make the adjustment, but just can seem to get it right. is there a certain distance up or down the adjuster it should be set at? any help would be great
i've tried a few times to get it right, i tried it at about a 1/4 of the way down from the top(away from the trans)it will release when the pedal is almost all the way out(away from the floor) and it will work enough to drive if i baby it, if i give it gas it will slip. with it adjusted 1/2 way i get nothing, with it in gear and clutch released the car wouldnt move and wouldnt stall either. also the farther down it is adjusted toward the trans the stiffer the pedal gets. hope this extra info helps explain my problem
in what conditon is your clutch in? im not understanding it should either get closer or farther. why cant you adjust in the opposite direction?
Pull the arm up by hand until it stops. Adjust the cable to this point.
Don't tighten too tight or you will wear your clutch prematurly. Too loose and you'll have a sloppy clutch pedal.
Are you sure you have the right clutch installed?

i have a jdm b16 with a j1 trans, a couple of "honda-head" friends i have said i can use either a 92 integra gsr or 90-93 integra ls clutch. i ended up using the 92 gsr clutch cuz it didnt take as long to order in
