I have a bareing going bad in my transmission, and I have just started to feel the unbalenced inconsistency in my shifter. Any idea on how long I have till it goes?

really theres no way of telling it could blow up in a week or a month or who knows how long it will hang out. what kind of tranny?

 

Well... you know that you have a problem so its only a matter of time, which no one knows when/where/how its gonna happen (varies on your driving habits) . If you can, obviously replace/change/repair it ASAP.

 

I would address the problem quickly before it becomes a catastrophic failure.

 

well, I am planning on replaceing my ls transmission with a type r when it goes, so im not to worried about it anyway. I would just replace it right now but sadly I dont have the funds

It is not going to hurt anything but itself(meaning the tranny) when it does go, is it?

 

How bout when it leaves you stranded in the middle of the freeway then you're gonna spend money on a tow truck and put yourself and others in danger, don't take these issues lightly.

1st- If I coud replace it now I would.
2nd- I dont drive on the highway frequently, and have planned on not driving my car oustisde my local city untill my trans is replaced.
3rd- I have AAA so paying for a tow truck is covered.

I am not takeing this "lightly". the only reason my car is still on the road, is because it is my only car, and I depend on it to get to school and work. As I said before, if I had the money, my transmissions' problem would have been taken care of at the first sign of it going bad.

 

So... your low on funds and you want to slap a Hype R in it? Unless you have the Hype R tranny... which I would just sell it, fix the LS tranny, and save the leftover money. Work something out with a schoolmate/friend/co-worker to help you out for the time being.

Yeah theres nothing like going 65 and all of a sudden your tranny locks up.
Just like someone slamming on the brakes without u knowing.
Happen to me and i was about 2 hours from home.
