Default weird problem with clutch for the past 2 days

yesterday my c ar wasnt going into gear at all when i turned it on, i checked out my clutch master cylinder and it had barely any brake fluid and a bunch of sludge... so i cleaned out the sludge in the container and added new brake fluid... i had the pump my clutch a few times and then my car started going into gear fine so i thought the problem was solved.. but today same problem i have to pump my clutch at least 10 times for it to go into gear but then its smooth sailing from then on.... any indication what needs to be done.... maybe bleeding the system?

if your clutch feel soft spongy like then bleed your clutch, but u said it was low on fluid so check for leaks, look for fluid where the clutch cylinder is, if u see fluid leaking from there u'll need a new one

mine did the same exact thing. the master was leaking on the inside of the car. you could not see it until you took the master out.

The leak is almost certainly from seals in either the master or slave cylinder. It's highly unlikely to be leaking from the hard lines or connections, but you could have a crack in the rubber hose.

my slave cylinder is fine, even my mechanic checked it and said the slave cylinder seems fine, so the best bet is changing the master cylinder?
