Fender rub=tire shread
So here is my story, I tried to post on team-integra but my posts keep getting declined without any reason, and I am tired of that bs.
my setup right now. Tokico HP shocks, H&R springs, (1.75" FD) (1.50" RD)
ANYWAYS. Here is my problem right now. Like the title says, I am getting major fender rub just about anywhere I go...uneaven road, corners, prety much anytime weight of my car shifts to the right. I am thinking its my shock that might be done somehow eventhough it did not leak or anything. My mudguards are long gone... and one of my tires almost got shreaded in the middle.
My mistake 4 years ago was to throw away my bumber stops... duh
I have some adjustable kyb shocks on the way.
ALSO...I have some TIEN springs 2.5" fd and 1.5"rd. After installing H&R springs, the gap in the front looks the SAME... I figured 3/4" would be noticeable....I am thinking it has something to do with the spring rate...I duno...

Do you have aftermarket wheels? if so, what's the offset?
Sounds to me like you need to take your car to a shop and get it done PROPERLY (nice throw away of the bumpstops) with an alignement. Guaranteed you'll get it right doing it that way.

A lot of things can cause rubbing - everything from wheels with the wrong offset, to the wrong size tires (which you don't mention), to a suspension problem (e.g. bent control arm), to a bad alignment, etc.
my tires are 205/50/16.
I have possitive offset on these wheels, I am going to take some photos today and post em later on.
Also I think it very well may have to do with car shaking when accelerating hard on high speeds. This happened right after I switched from 18" wheels to 16". The guy at the shop told me they checked alignment, wheel balance and everything was fine.

That's your problem. That size is too big for your Integra; it's 2.7 percent larger in diameter than stock. You should be using 205/45-16, and if you do, they shouldn't rub.

your problem is you tire size, 205-50-16 are too big. i used to have that size on my 16s(came with the rims) and they hella rub. i had those for a week and fianlly got some 205-45-16.
205-45-16 is the correct size for your car not 205-50-16

I've got 205/50/16 (Same exact tires as you actually), +38 with the tires tucking and no problems on my Teg. Looks like you're camber is adjusted? You probably need to add some neg. camber to get away with a drop that low.
GL with the new shocks, hope that helps!

first of all his FRONT wheels are rubbing. I'm assuming it's just the tire size. I'm dropped a lot lower than you are and I believe that with any wheel bigger than 15" with a 205/50/15 tire, I will rub when I turn and hit bumps. You should either downsize in the tire size, or try to roll your fenders.

This is the wrong size for an Integra. It's TOO BIG! Not only will the oversized tires create the possibility of rubbing, but they will also make your car accelerate slower, and will throw off your speedometer and odometer. And there are NO advantages to oversized tires. Stick to 205/45-16 (or you can also use 215/45-16).

Yes, they are oversized. But my roads around here are LOADED with potholes, and to be honest, it's great protection for my wheels and ride quality. I bought the car with them on it (they were installed for that reason) and I'll probably be sticking with it. The spedo difference is only a few mph at 60mph, so I can adjust in my head pretty easily.
Just a quick update before I hit the gym.
All the rubbing had to do with my tokico HP shocks... They simply could not handle.
My new kyb shocks are awsome, I can hit corners and big holes on the road and stil lno tires rubing, so thansk for all the info, but replacing the shocks did the trick :D

sorry to thread jack but im rubbing too.
i know my shocks are dieying, they creak like a (insert something witty here) on crack, when i push down on them.
i have gsr fat fives with 205/55/15. i had no idea what tires to get so i got what was on the car.
i dont know how low it is dropped (bought it like that) but it is some tokico blues with hr springs (red)
it scrapes pretty badly when U turning.
would new shocks fix this?
or would smaller tires fix this?
i still have the liner, but it is rubbed beyond the liner now.

Well, I hate the idea of throwing out tires when they still have reasonable tread on them. But, at a minimum, don't buy that size again. You need 195/55-15 or 205/50-15.
As for the shocks, remember that most aftermarket shocks (including Koni, Tokico, Bilstein, etc) are warranteed to the original purchaser for the life of the car. I keep my cars a long time, and I've had shocks replaced by both Tokico and Bilstein for no charge. When you buy aftermarket shocks, save the receipt!
