Default Quick release as a theft preventive?

How do you feel about using a quick release steering wheel as a preventive for theft, Im thinking about doing it for the sole purpose of not having my car stolen.

I already have a killed switch but that is definitely not enough, i would think a quick release set-up should be pretty good against theif or am i wrong?

Wrong section, but...

If you have a quick release, what's to stop a thief from using a wheel with a NRG quick release on it? They're very common these days...

Get a NRG hub lock, and pull your ECU every time you leave the car. Keep your wheel and ECU in a backpack or something. That's what I'll be doing.

EDIT: Pulling your ECU is a GREAT defense for us turbo Honda guys.

I'd love to see someone idle my 1000cc's on a stock P28.

I just installed my sparco wheel and quick release two nights ago...for looks haha. It will be another reason to NOT steal a car because its that much more hassle. Kill switches are your friend.

Basically if they want it, they will get it. We just try and make it harder to get.

Yes it can be had if they really want it but not having a steering wheel will prevent most if not all attemts since most thieves just come with old school tools to steal cars that do have steering wheels.

I would do it, the more you do the better your chances at preventing it.

Seriously! Why even bother trying to break in and hot wire someones car when you can simply tow it away in 30 seconds with a Self Loader.

i like the idea of sharing helpful ideas and all but i think threads like this probably cause more harm than good. you guys just basically spelled out a few easy ways to steal our cars. its not that hard for shady characters to sign up and learn some insight.

calm down buddy the steering wheel being missing will be pretty obvious, and trust me car thieves know far more about stealing cars than we do.
