Need opinions between Kumho ASX or Solus
Hey guys i need help choosing between these two tires. Kumho ASX and Kumho Solus Kr21. ASX is a UHP all season, and Solus is Standard Touring All-Season. I've heard that UHP performs better then touring tires, but the comparisons on Tire-rack shows that the Solus beats the ASX in every category.
I am leaning towards the Solus because it has more thread and the rankings are higher. What do you guys think?
If i can find some Kumho SPT's for around the same price before spring, i will definitely get them. If not then its either ASX or Solus.
Thanks for your input.

Link to said test with both the ASX and Solus KR21? I can't find it on tirerack...
All I found were
http://www.tirerack.com/tires/...id=52
http://www.tirerack.com/tires/...id=88

i put the solus on my wife's jetta and they are as much of a passenger car tire you can get. Meaning the don't do much in the way of performance (handle like poo), but they were cheap and the ride pretty nice for haulin the kid around.

Heres the link. I just compared the two tires.
http://www.tirerack.com/tires/...dex=0
ah guess the link expires.
I just search for tire size (195/60/15) and check the ASX and Solus to get rating comparisons.

DON'T pay any attention to the rankings. The problem with rankings is that they are based on customer reviews, and customer reviews are biased because they depend on who buys a particular tire. When a tire doesn't perform all that well, the people who buy that tire are often very UNsophisticated buyers who just haven't tried anything else, and they're happy with that tire because they don't realize that most other tires are better. There are a lot of instances in which one tire performs better than another in every way possible, yet the poorer performer gets higher ratings from customers.
The ASX is an excellent all-season tire (one of the very best on the market) and outperforms the Solus KR21 in every way possible, except maybe price. Get the ASX.

Yea thats what i thought too. Touring tires should not outperform the UHP tires. Which is what i am confused about.
Thanks, looks like i will get the ASX.
