is using aem filter cone with stock hose just as good as the whole short ram intake?

Default is using aem filter cone with stock hose just as good as the whole short ram intake?

Im new at all this just buying my first 89 crx si. Any advice or info on this topic would be great. I hear different things from everyone but if anybody had any comparison info or comments would be great.

Leave the stock airbox and install a drop in K&N filter.
