Default What do you guys think its worth?

kinda been thinking about selling the R, thing is its not doen being fixed
so i was wondering if it be worth it to finish fixing it, or maybe see how much i could get for it the way it sits

quick rundown
2001
75,000 miles
clean title

thing is the motor has a spun rod bearing i think, comes with the complete engine, and trans, all is currently removed from the car, ready to be rebuilt
engine is bone stock
comes with spoon n1 rear section, with silencer

exterior
has a jdm type r hid front end conversion
spoon mirrors
s2k antenna
front end conversion is not painted its still white, rest of car is phoenix yellow

suspspension
16'' silver Regamaster Evos, with brand new yokohama parada spec2's
tein stech spring
also have stock springs
stock shocks
all oem itr susp pieces in place, oem strut bar and sways
includes super rare jdm itr rear strut bar
will include new front rotors also

interior is complete except for rear seats
and comes with mint red jdm itr recaros

car is totally complete only thing missing is the rear seats

heres a few pics

car was never driven with the stock lug nuts on the wheel, hell the car was never driven with these wheels on the car, iv got a set of aftermarket lug nuts that will come with the car

i have a price im lookin for in my mind, and i know how much $ it whould take to get car in perfect condition again, if i can get how much im lookin for i will sell the way it sits

^^^Agreed, even less if the title is not clean...if the buyer is a diy'er, you *might* get 11k for it. Realistically, around 9k. It will take quite a bit of cash to refresh that car.

its not goin to take that much to get it goin again
maybe 800 for paint
1000 to rebuild the motor
and 200 for back seats and the car is done

now id think the car is worth 16-17k all fixed and ready to go
so whouldnt you think
16k, minus 2k to fix=14k, minus say 1k for your trouble=13k the way it sits

is my math crazy?

very crazy. Nobody wants to pay premium prices for something that needs that much work. 800 for paint?? For a crappy paint job. To get it done right and to look oem, you're talking 2,000 bucks. Who is to say the front end job was good...that may need to be redone also.

What if someone gets the engine rebuilt/replaced and finds the trans is all messed up also! There's so many hidden things with a car like this that makes it hard to sell it for a good price. Id say 9-10 as is, 14-15 fixed up(if it's as good as OEM)

I've seen the car a few times in the past, its described accurately, but I think it would be close to $2k to have someone rebuild the motor, maybe $1K to get the front painted/blended. Seat are a couple hundred, so I'd say his guess of $3k is right, but I don't see it selling to $13,000. There are higher mileage basically stock drivable examples going for less. It would need to be a complete car to command over $11,000.

you can't take the price of what the car should sell for and minus exactly what it would cost to fix....it never works that way.
It doesn't even matter anyways..I'm not buying it, and I don't think anyone else is going to pay 10+ for a car that doesn't even have an engine in it

Sell the rims to reduce the rebuild cost, do some prepwork for the paint, and a full detail, it'll be good to go.

You gotta keep in mind, just because the car its fixed up, dosn't mean it will fetch as much as another R with the same stats that never needed the work to begin with....

If you had that same year R stock with the same miles in good-very good condition you could get 15-16k. Maybe even 16.5

dude I've seen your car. You don't want to sell it haha. Just rip the block apart one night after work and then get a game plan. Once the blocks apart, its not much left really. Just drop it off at a machine shop and then put your motor back in when it comes back
