I am looking at buying a Spoon Carbon Fiber hood for my car this year and I finally found one. The current owner had it resprayed with a dull "matte" clear coat and this doesn't really suit my taste nor would it look decent on my car. So just for re-assurance if I sand it down with a 800 or 1000 grit paper then have it re-cleared in a more glossy/shiny clear coat the shine will return to normal, correct?

*Normal being how CF hoods look when they are brand new.

Thanks to all who help out as I know this question has been asked a lot, I just need re-assurance I am thinking correctly.

 

wet sand it till its smooth and have it resprayed.

 

wet sand until all the texture is gone, then hit it up with some clear and your good to go...

 

Ok perfect...but it is possibly to bring back the shine which is awesome to have re-assured

Do you guys think it is worth it to do this with all the costs to get it recleared? I trading my stock jdm hood plus around $300cdn. I have no idea how much this kinda work will cost
