Auto Transmission Weird Noise H22 Engine
Hey I have had my 1999 Honda Prelude H22A4 Auto for about 8 months and I love it!!!!
But the engine compartment is kind of making a washing machine sound (more of a continues wooshing sound lol) while in idle. If i put load on the engine, Drive, Reverse, etc it goes away.
Is this a sign of bad fluid or is my transmission going out, I've heard they like to go out very easily so I just want to be prepared..
Thanks!!!
ADDED 9:03PM : The fluid looks to be over the line on the dipstick, i tried looking for a drain plug on the tranny but can't find it can anyone snap a pic or somthing?
Added: Sounds like when the washing machine is spinning back and forth i think its the first cycle or somthing just a lot of swooshing sounds i guess you can call it.
AHHH TRAIL USER SUCKS!!!!! I can't reply to the message below!

No takers?
Add:
It goes away anytime I put it in drive or reverse. I don't even have to be moving and it will go away like it wasnt there.

its still a bit vague. does it completely go away after you drive? or does it "stop" the sound during those moments. also, what sound from the washing machine? there are different cycles ;0 no pun intended... should be a bit more descriptive. but what i can tell you, if it sounds like a "weed whacker" during idle or sounds "whiny" than, for the most part it may be your transmission.
I have a similar problem, but mine is like if its whinning up as the rpms goes up untill 2k, then it stops. A honda mechanic mentioned to me it must be your torque converter, because its slower then other autopreludes getting off the line. But i do have a rebuild tranny, and thats ready to take a crap.
Really thats interesting, but if anyone still cares its the sound when the wmachine is swishing all the water around...Yea still vague, and i'll get some sounds clips.
