whats with the gap? is that where the rubbers for the hood good? if so where can i get this?

probably not the highest quality hood.

 

thats a huge gap. Is the gap equal on both sides?

 

was your car ever in an accident? the quality of the weave looks pretty good so i doubt the hood is garbage. make sure you cant slide the hood to either side more(at the hinge) to fill the gap, and try to adjust your fenders if you can as well. my cf hood weave is pretty ghetto ****, but it fits better than that.

by looking at the point where the fender meets the A pillar, it looks like the fender is sitting a little "lower" than it should. maybe you could simply losen the bolts holding the fender in place, reposition the fender, and then re-tighten. a lot of fitment issues are caused by the order in which you tighten various bolts--i.e. if you tighten the bottom bolts on the fender first, you're going to pull it down.

the fenders are in the right place cause it lines up with the leadlights perfectly, and the hood is in place, i cant wiggle it or anything

 

Mine fits like that too - I have to readjust the fender. I don't have the JDM front end, so my it will work out fine since it will be aligned.

Can you mold the fender and lengthen it to cover the gap? "Massage" it out?

 

I had the same problem with a Versus c/f hood on my old del sol, after a while a 3/4 inch gap became a 1/4 inch gap. I guess due to the sun baking it. Thats the only reason I could think of. I aslo used to press down evenly on both sides when the hood was really hot from driving and/or sunlight. That may of helped also.

 

yea I don't know if mine came from the factory liek this or not... but after I took my car to get a new fron cus of an accident I noticed the gap on one side the hood seems bigger?... do most body shops take of the hood when replacing the front bumper ?

my friend has a fiber images carbon fiber hood for his 2001 accord coupe.. has that same problem friggen sucks

Don't know what brand...bodyshop orderd....it was to replace the slight damage spoon carbon fiber hood, but i decided to paint it white so won't see the damage. Sell the hood straight to FusionITR...brand new...tested fitted before i send it out to him....as for brand...i have no clue

 

Mine fit like that too..I have a FiberImages. I took mine off, it draws too much negative attention and i constantly got revved on. To me it's not worth the minimal gain you'll see from the lighter weight. Now everone's getting CF hoods for cars like Mazda Protoge's and Celica's. A lot of ricers are painting their hoods black for that "CF look" also and i'm tired of being associated with them..
