I have a 97 prelude, and i bought a cheap 2005 panasonic HU. as you probably already know, they dont match. (i believe it was after 98 that honda changed all the harnesses)

well a buddy of mine had a reverse wiring harness lying around, it plugs up to my prelude's HU harness as it should, so now im looking for a write-up on how to splice the wires from this female(is that the right term?) reverseharness to my panasonic's harness.

If the harness you got plugs into the cars OEM radio harness plug, it is an adapter harness, it looks like this... http://www.scosche.com/product...D/295

This is the reverse harness... http://www.scosche.com/product...D/296 it plugs into the OEM HU.

The connections between the Panasonic harness and the adapter harness should be color for color, match the colors and connect.

Do the wire colors of the Panasonic harness not match the colors of the adapter harness?

If not, here is a pin-out... http://www.installdr.com/Harnesses/HA-Wiring.pdf match them up and connect. 94

 

yeah i spliced in the adaptor harness to the panasonic harness. i searched more and found the answer earlier. its complete now and working functionally. (even with twist-splicing since i dont have shrink tube on hand) thanks for the clarification tho =D
